Firstfold started with a simple question: why does a wallet need stitching at all? The answer, it turns out, is that it doesn't. A single piece of leather, shaped and folded with precision, holds everything you need — cards, cash, your day — without a single thread.
The name says it all. The first fold is the wallet. No inner lining. No hardware. No stitches to work loose over time. Just leather doing what leather does best: forming to its purpose and growing more beautiful with age.
Every wallet is made by hand in Boston, MA, using Walpier Buttero — a veg-tanned leather from the Tuscan tanneries of Conceria Walpier, renowned for its tight grain, vivid colours, and exceptional patina development.

The signature Firstfold design uses the leather itself as structure. No stitching means no failure points — nothing to fray, loosen, or come undone.
Sourced from Conceria Walpier in Tuscany. Vegetable-tanned, full-grain leather with a dense hand and a patina that deepens beautifully with every year of use.
The fold naturally produces the thinnest possible silhouette. Carry 4–6 cards and stay comfortable in your front pocket all day.
Add a monogram, name, date, or short inscription to the exterior. Custom engraving is available on request at additional cost — makes a uniquely personal gift.

Buttero is tanned for a minimum of 30 days in vegetable extracts, producing a leather dense enough to hold its shape without internal support. That's what makes the stitchless fold possible, and what makes each wallet better at ten years than at ten days.
